About the Project

The inspiration for Eastern Fusion was a need to continue the long legacy of Islamic visual and creative arts into a contemporary Australian context. Several International guests have been invited to share their experiences and knowledge across various artistic and spiritual disciplines with a hope to foster local interest and creative talent.

Guests will include scholar Imam Abdul Latif (Zaytuna Institute - USA), crafts and creative living consultant Khadijah O'Connell (Barakah Life - USA), world reknowned Haji Noor Deen (Calligrapher - China) and musical talent Nader Khan (Singer & Social Activist -Canada).

The program was created by a range of individuals who are passionate about supporting the Islamic arts. Key organisers include Al-Ghazzali Centre (Imam Afroz Ali & Team), Azaan | Inspired Graphics (Peter Gould) and Souk Collective (Zahrah Habibullah-Williams) with the support of many dedicated Muslim community members.
